Free Testing For Chlamydia & Gonorrhea

Getting tested for STDs/STIs is a basic part of taking care of your health. As a free clinic serving Contra Costa County for over 35 years, Options Health provides free STD/STI testing and diagnosis for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Free Chlamydia and Gonorrhea Testing in Contra Costa County, CA

We offer confidential urine testing (not a blood draw) for the diagnosis of chlamydia and gonorrhea.  If indicated, treatment will be provided for chlamydia and a referral for the treatment of gonorrhea, in addition to providing information about ways to reduce your risk. If requested, we can offer counseling on how to relay the news to your partner.

  • Chlamydia is on the rise with the majority of cases from teenagers – in 2019, STD/STI rates in California reached their highest levels in 30 years.
  • Left undetected, they can contribute to serious long-term health issues, including fertility issues, infertility, and even cancer.
  • In 2018, reported numbers of Gonorrhea cases rose to 80,000 in California, a 211% increase from 10 years ago. Chlamydia also increased by 56% and rose to 230,000 cases.
  • Left untreated, both can cause PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) and even increase ectopic pregnancy risk in women.
  • Chlamydia rates are highest among women, and people under the age of 30 are especially at risk and the most common STD/STI carriers.
  • You should receive annual testing for syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea – it may also be important for you to receive HIV testing as well.
